ADD EVENT TO THIS MONTH
(Board members only, password required)
Using the Handy-Dandy NMEA Digital Calendar
The calendar’s purpose is to keep Board members informed of NMEA events that we are expected to attend, and any non-NMEA sponsored events that require the attendance of NMEA Board members. The NSTA Congress is an example of the latter type of event. Items such as deadlines for NMEA News and Current will also appear on the calendar.
Chapter representatives are encouraged to post major chapter events such as your annual chapter conferences. Due to space limitations, we ask that you do NOT post chapter events that are of interest only to your chapter, such as your chapter’s own board meetings and newsletter deadlines, and that you refrain from posting information about meetings and events in which NMEA has no official role.
To read the NMEA Calendar:
To learn more detail about any event on the calendar, click on the date of the event and more information will appear in a new window. To go back and view the entire month, use the “back” button or click on “show entire month.”
To view a month other than the current one, choose the month you want from the scroll-down list in the window at the top of the calendar. Click on “go.”
To POST an event on the NMEA Calendar:
If you wish to post an event to the current month, click “Add event to this month.” To post to another month and/or year, use the scroll down boxes at the top of the calendar to choose the time period you want.
Type in the password you were given. If you forgot it, ask Johnette.
Follow the directions appearing at the bottom of the calendar window step by step.
* Ignore the first box labeled “sort order (numeric).”
* Information typed in the “event name” box will appear on the calendar. All other details about the event (place, time, contact person, etc.) should be typed in the “event description” box. Board members can access these details by clicking directly on the number of the date on the calendar itself.
Information posted on the calendar can be changed or deleted by choosing these options as they appear under the “command” section.
NOTE: Information for the "event name" block should be kept VERY short, preferably only the name of the event. Put the details in the event description box.
