Upper Chesapeake Bay (CB2OH)
Previous Segment Segment Text Next Segment

Due to flight restrictions following the events of September 11, only a small portion (0.02%) of area mapped for segment CB2OH in 2000 was fully mapped in 2001. In 2001, 82.20 ha of SAV were mapped for this segment.

When comparing the same regions for both years, SAV area increased from 0.06 ha mapped in 2000 to 13.70 ha mapped in 2001. SAV area has been increasing in CB2OH for seven years since 1995; however, the Tier I goal, adjusted to cover just the area mapped both years (23.20 ha), was not met for CB2OH. SAV increased on the western shore in Romney Creek (Map 008) and on the eastern shore in Still Pond Creek (Maps 015, 016). SAV declined in the bed at the mouth of Delph Creek (Map 008).
