Isle of Wight (IOWPH)

In 2001, SAV area in segment IOWPH increased to 124.10 ha, 17% more than in 2000 (106.29 ha), continuing a eight-year increasing trend. This segment accounted for 1.6% of SAV in the Delmarva Peninsula Coastal Bays Zone. The Tier I goal has not been established for IOWPH.

SAV increased in off Isle of Wight (Map 166); and in the deeper portions of the large bed on the eastern shore of Isle of Wight Bay south of the Route 90 Bridge (Map 166, 167).

The SAV bed north of Collier Island that was mapped in 2000, was not observed on the 2001 aerial photography. This was the only notable decrease for the segment.
