Upper Pamunkey River (PMKTF)

In 2001, SAV area in segment PMKTF decreased to 56.52 ha, 20% less than in 2000 (70.43 ha). This segment accounted for a small portion (0.62%) of SAV in the Lower Bay Zone. No area was included in the Tier I goal for PMKTF.

In 2001, SAV decreased in Montague Creek (Map 228); Polkwest Creek (Map 228); off White House (Map 228); in Old Town Creek (Map 228); off Lilly Point Marsh (Maps 228, 229); and at the mouth of Big Creek (Map 229).

Small, new SAV beds were mapped in the middle section of the Pamunkey River above Jacks Creek (Map 228). In addition, some SAV expansion was noted in Polkwest Creek (Map 228); and west of Old Town Creek (Map 228).
