Upper Potomac River (POTTF)

In 2004, SAV area in segment POTTF increased to 971.61 ha, 48% more than in 2003 (655.31 ha). This segment accounted for 7.2% of SAV in the Middle Bay Zone and 3.3% of the Bay total.

For the second year since 2002, SAV was not visible above the Woodrow Wilson Bridge (Map 034). Below the bridge, SAV increased notably in Broad and Doque creeks and at the mouth of the Occoquan River (Maps 034, 039, 040).
