NOAA/NERRS Graduate
Research Fellowship Program:
The NERRS GRF
program offers qualified masters and doctoral students the opportunity
to address scientific questions of local, regional and national
significance. Two students per year are selected to be graduate
fellows for each reserve on a competitive basis. Research must be
conducted within Reserve boundaries. Currently the fellowship award
is $20,000 per year for up to three years. Priority areas include
non-point source pollution, socioeconomic research, the importance
of biodiversity, effects of invasive species on estuarine ecosystems,
resource sustainability and estuarine ecosystem restoration. The
application deadline for the upcoming year is November 1, 2008.
