Since 1990, the Alliance has worked with local river conservation organizations across the Bay watershed to hold week-long paddling and camping trips that celebrate rich history and ecology of the rivers that make the Chesapeake Bay unique.

Bay Maritime Museum
This museum features nine exhibit buildings on 18 waterfront acres in
scenic St. Michaels, in addition to the 1879 Hooper Strait lighthouse,
skipjack Rosie Parks, a working boatyard, and an interactive waterman's
shanty. Events include festivals, engaging special exhibitions, hands-on
boatbuilding classes, and outdoor summer concerts.
Horn Point Environmental Education Center
The Horn Point Environmental Education Center in Cambridge, MD, has several
field activities for students including aquatics, astronomy, canoeing, water
safety, conservation projects, field studies, and more. Out of state groups
can take advantage of the facilities' dormitories.

from oyster restoration to seaport education and shipboard programs. Click

National Aquarium in Baltimore Traveling Programs
The Aquarium's Outreach Traveling Program comes to your school. All programs are age/grade appropriate and support Maryland Content Standards. Bay topics include "Bay on the Road", Grades 4 - 6 and "Chesapeake Bay Explorations", Grades 4 - 8.

Echo
Located in Millersville, Maryland, these 24 wooded acres overlooking the
Severn River are owned by the Anne Arundel County Public Schools. Trails
run through forests and marsh areas, allowing for diverse activities.
Rowboats and canoes are available at the waterfront; beehives, a weather
station, the marine science center, a marsh boardwalk, a demonstration
wildlife habitat, campfire areas, piers and open areas are also features
of the site. Special training allows teachers to utilize the Initiative
and Confidence Course or Lady Echo, a 25-foot research vessel. Arlington
Echo has six heated cabins which can house approximately 120 students
and adults. A full kitchen and dining hall support residential programs
of up to four nights. Some day programs are also available.

Hard Bargain Farm Environmental Education Center
Hard Bargain Farm is a 330-acre working farm with facilities for meetings and conferences, as well as field trips. A variety of day and overnight educational field trips are offered which provide K-12 children with an oppportunity to learn about farm life and the history of the Potomac River and its natural environment.
