Accounts at William & Mary

• VIMS students, faculty, and staff are a part of William & Mary. The College assigns all W&M people, including VIMS, a W&M user ID. This facilitates college-wide communications, like the staff digest, early closings, important announcements from administration, and the like.
• Typically, the W&M ID consists of the initials of a person's first and middle names, and the first four letters of the last name. For someone named Joe E. College, the user ID would be jecoll, with a W&M email account of jecoll@wm.edu. For someone with no middle name, or a short last name, the letter 'x' replaces the missing letters. Mary (no middle name) Cap would have a user ID of mxcapx.

Forwarding W&M Email to Your VIMS Account

• Browse to W&M Email Administration.
• Login with your W&M user ID and password.
• Click on "Forwarding".
• Enter your VIMS email address in the dialog box.
• Click "Start".

Search the on-line W&M directory for someone's name, email address, user ID, or title.
